MOSAIC + NETWORK

WHAT IS THE NETWORK?

The Mosaic Network connects members of the Mosaic community to one another through  an organic, user-driven Slack™ channel.  By joining the Mosaic Network, members agree that while they seek help from others they are also motivated to support members of the community.  The Mosaic Network is fueled by its members’ desire to learn but also to help others learn as they move through the early years of their careers as builders and leaders.

WHO IS ON THE NETWORK?

The Mosaic Network is for people who are developing their expertise in a discipline or practice but love to interact with a much larger community of people, across multiple disciplines, who share a passion for building and leading new products, programs, and enterprises.  They crave the stimulation of creating something new that solves a problem or need, but they have learned through experience that they cannot tackle these opportunities alone; they need to be part of a mix of people and disciplines effectively build and lead.

Mosaic Student Leaders

Without student leadership, there's no Mosaic.  Mosaic Organizations, run and led by students, support hundreds of ventures founded by student and alumni entrepreneurs. Both Mosaic leaders and venture founders gain a tremendous amount of experience building and leading ventures. Yet, as they near graduation, to a person, they are a deer in the blinding headlights of the careers they are about to enter. While their coop work experiences have grounded them in the rhythm of employment, they look forward to the leaders who came before them to guide their entry into the workforce.

Career Launchers

Every year, hundreds of students who have been part of the entrepreneurship ecosystem at Northeastern graduate into a variety of jobs and the start of their career paths.    For some, there will be wonderful learning, growth and job satisfaction. For most, there will be a lot of stress adjusting to a new rhythm of their life, new metrics for success, their bosses, and new pressure on how they balance their time .  They look to their peers and near peers to help talk through the arc of uncertainty that is part of leaving school and entering the world of work.

Career Pathfinders

After four or five years in their careers, most graduates begin to find their way along a career path that is satisfying their itch for entrepreneurial building and leading.  One of the things they all learn is how much they still have to learn, but they can provide extremely helpful perspectives to those that are following them. Their needs evolve from gaining comfort in the work space, to being more effective at their jobs, assuming management responsibility, and taking the lead in building new products and programs at their companies or deciding to launch their own businesses.

“HAVING A NETWORK OF PEERS WHO I CAN LEARN FROM EVEN AFTER I LEFT NORTHEASTERN HAS HELPED ME TO ADVANCE MY CAREER AND MY BUSINESS.”
