Associate Director, Mosaic
Marina Watanabe, PhD is the Associate Director of Mosaic. She is passionate about making entrepreneurship accessible and empowering student innovators to enact positive change.
Before joining Northeastern, Marina was the Creativity and Entrepreneurship Senior Fellow at Harvard University’s Lemann Program on Creativity and Entrepreneurship. She helped design and implement student startup incubators, pitch competitions, and entrepreneurship course curricula. Additionally, she was an Education Innovation Fellow with the Harvard Initiative for Learning and Teaching, where she mentored and distributed funding to Harvard and MIT startup teams working to improve the field of education.
Marina earned her PhD in Biological and Biomedical Sciences at Harvard University. Her graduate research at Brigham and Women’s Hospital focused on discovering novel combination therapies in the treatment of HER2+ breast cancer. When not on campus, she can be found volunteering with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) to advance cancer legislation, officiating weddings, choreographing comical dance routines, trying out whimsical exercise classes, and working toward her next storytelling event.
Program Manager, Mosaic
Tyler Farley graduated from Northeastern in 2019. He studied entrepreneurship and marketing, and completed his co-ops at Philips Color Kinetics and LevelUp (acquired by GrubHub), where he performed user acquisition and market research.
As a Mosaic student, he had always been interested in startups. He launched his brand Better Than Belts soon after graduating and ran the business full-time for two years. He became a student of crowdfunding (ran two successful Kickstarted campaigns), paid media, retail, web design, and digital marketing. See his favorite ad that he has ran here. You can catch Tyler playing make-believe in the North End at Improv Asylum's House Teams show every Tuesday night at 8pm.

Student Leadership Development Associate
Megha Varghese graduated from Northeastern in Spring 2023 with a combined Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences and Psychology. Being a part of one of Mosaic's organizations, ViTAL, and working as a medical assistant and scribe during her co-ops sparked her interest in healthcare innovation. In ViTAL, she started as a marketing lead and eventually became the director of operations and in her senior year, the co-executive director. She expanded her support for Mosaic to all its organizations as the Mosaic Fellow last year and is excited to continue doing so with a focus on student leadership development!
When Megha isn't on campus, you can find her doing yoga, serving at Barcelona Wine Bar, attempting to learn Spanish, exploring new Boston cafes (send recommendations her way or grab a coffee with her!), or finding a new instrument to sing with!
